Editorial policy
How we create and check information.
Research
Articles are drafted from peer-reviewed sources, South African government and NGO publications (SACENDU, NDoH, SAMRC, SADAG, SANCA, UNODC), and current international clinical guidance. Sources are cited where relevant.
Clinical and lived-experience review
Clinical content is reviewed by Dr Sheridan Walter (MBChB, MPhil Applied Ethics) before publication. Where content concerns recovery, harm reduction, or family experience, we seek input from people with lived experience.
Reviews and updates
Each article shows a "last updated" date. We aim to review clinical and resource content at least every 12 months, and sooner when guidelines or local services change.
Corrections
If information is outdated or incorrect, please email corrections@bridge.project.za or use our contact form. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.
Conflicts of interest
Sponsored or paid content is labelled clearly at the top of the article. Authors disclose any relevant financial or organisational interests. We do not accept payment to remove negative information about a service or to change clinical recommendations.
Limits
Information on this site is general and educational. It does not replace individualised care from a qualified healthcare provider.
